We should really just start calling this tournament the “Williams’ Wimbledon”. Both Serena and Venus Williams handled their semifinal opponents in straight sets to book their third meeting in the Wimbledon final. Venus Williams plays sister Serena Williams on Saturday for the 2008 Wimbledon singles title. Regardless of whether Venus or Serena wins the match, the Williams family wins. The fact that Serena and Venus are playing for the seventh Dementieva, playing in her first Wimbledon semifinal, looked nervous and was completely overmatched in the first set by Venus Williams#39; sheer power and pace, but settled down and made it competitive in the second.

Our very kind photographer friend Oscar Martin has taken some great shots of the firework display this last weekend. The one pictured above from the Santa Barbara castle is spectacular. The sounds were heard all over La Playa San Juan Down in Big Sur, the fires have forced evacuations of some 1800 homes, while fires threaten other towns near Santa Barbara. This weekend is the Gettysburg Reenactment. It looks super cool, and we are hopefully going tomorrow. I am not sure if John wants to go, but I think it will be super neat… I still haven#39;t convinced him to go on that ghost hunt thing : In a couple of weeks I#39;ll be taking off in a van with a few other reenactors to do the Gettysburg Reenactment. On the way we plan to hit Antietam, Harper#39;s Ferry, the Civil War Medical Museum, and of course the Gettysburg battlefield which is kind of a downtown area…super fun! Good night everyone!
